Lok’lira explains that advancing further in the Hyldsmeet requires a warbear of your own, and the Hyldnir don’t hand those out for arena wins alone. You need to prove yourself in “true battle.”
The Hyldnir of Brunnhildar are currently feuding with the Sons of Hodir, Thorim’s former frost giant allies, so Lok’lira sends you to help with that fight as a way to earn your bear.
This is the first time the chain explicitly mentions the Sons of Hodir by name and connects the Hyldsmeet competition to the wider conflict in the Storm Peaks. The frost giants and the Hyldnir have been at war since Thorim withdrew from the world, and both sides blame each other for the fallout.

The Hyldnir of Brunnhildar are currently involved in a feud against the Sons of Hodir, Thorim’s former allies.” She gestured toward the village’s edge. “Speak to Brijana just outside the village and see how you can help them and prove yourself in the process.”
I found Brijana waiting with a massive bear at her side. The beast regarded me with the calculating gaze of a predator deciding if something was worth the effort to kill.
“Think we’ll give you your own bear just like that?” Brijana’s contempt was immediate. “You’ll have to prove yourself before you get anything from us. Do not think too highly of yourself just because you bested a few challengers in the Hyldsmeet.”
Apparently, the tournament victories bought me nothing here.
